How to Bake Bacon in the Oven
Discover how to bake bacon in the oven to save time! Not only will this technique save you time, but when you bake bacon in the oven it comes out evenly cooked, making it more delicious than ever!

Oven-baked bacon can be used the same way as fried bacon, including in egg recipes, to potatoes, beans, bacon bits and so much more! Plus, this way you can cook up the entire package and keep it in the fridge to have it handy for all your favourite recipes.

How to Bake Bacon

Preheat the Oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. I like to bake at a lower temperature because it is less likely to burn the bacon.

Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Then pile on an entire package of bacon strips. It's okay if the bacon strips overlap because they will shrink as they begin to bake.

How Long to Bake Bacon

The total baking time at 350F is about 30-40 minutes.

After about 15 minutes or so, once the bacon starts to shrink down, separate and rearrange the bacon on the baking sheet into a single layer.

Return the bacon to the oven and cook for another 15 to 25 minutes until it's baked to desired crispness. The length of time will depend on the thickness of your bacon, so keep a close eye to prevent it from burning.

Store bacon in a closed container for about 5 days in the refrigerator.

Pour bacon grease into a small container and use it to fry eggs and other stuff.

How to Make Bacon Bits

Bake bacon as per the instructions above. Allow to cool and then chop into pieces. Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.
